Edge_student1

The CCA Edge Associate Degree Program is a unique opportunity for students looking to maximize their high school career to achieve an Associate Degree (approximately 63 college credits, tuition-free) before they earn their high school diploma. This program is a closed cohort of high school-aged students that provides a supported step into the college environment through focused tutoring and support. Students participate in face-to-face classes at Gateway Technical College's Elkhorn campus. Edge students take their college coursework in the mornings and have the afternoon to personalize their schedules to take classes and participate in activities and athletics at Gateway Tech, CCA, or EAHS.

CCA Edge Associate Degree Pathway

The Elkhorn Area School District is partnering with Gateway Technical College to offer an Associate Degree Pathway for students in 9th and 10th grade. The intention is to offer courses which would allow students the opportunity to:

  • Achieve an Associate Degree during their high school career.

  • Gain the financial benefits of completing the first two years of general education studies while in high school.

  • Gain the academic benefits of being exposed to college-level coursework and expectations while in high school.

  • Engage in college-level coursework while supported by a college coach employed by the Career & College Academy to assist students with their assignments and assessments. Students will have courses spaced in a manageable sequence in the mornings, with the ability to take classes at the Career and College Academy, Elkhorn Area High School, or Options Virtual Charter School for the second half of the day.

  • Participate in this early college program while also taking advantage of the activities, clubs, and athletics of their home high school or Elkhorn Area High School.
